Virgil Abloh's influence and influence in footwear design has spanned into Nike's sustainability efforts. This layered, floating look owes in part to Virgil's vision, exemplified by "The 10," which is trending in the latest iteration of Nike Sportswear's "Scrap" model. The scrap look, first seen in the 2021 Dunk Low, is basically a reconstruction of the classic model's silhouette with excess parts and materials found on the factory floor. And on the Air Max 90, it achieves a DIY look while offering a modern look. As you can see, this Air Max 90 Scrap has more components than the base model, with tiny material switches to mask the exterior seams. The Swoosh is held together by an uneven look, with the logo's belly hanging down like a beer belly that doesn't go away, and the lace collar stacking many pieces, like React Element 87. The plush interior jumps out and folds over the heel, while added loops at the tongue and heel provide a sporty look. Two women's colorways have popped up - all-white and a predominantly gray-pink/rose hue. The exact release date isn't known yet, but we're speculating these are part of the late SS22 series. Of course, the supply chain issues haven't been alleviated, so it's not clear when retail stores will have these issues.
