The
game's official currency is gil, which can be obtained by killing enemies and
finding it in chests. It can be used to buy equipment, Materia, inns and
transport services, and the Turtleshell Choker spellcaster accessory.
For
players interested in gathering materials, leveling the Armorer or Goldsmith
professions is a good way to earn passive income. Players can also transfer gil
between their characters within the same Free Company for a small fee.
Crafting
Knowing
how to make Gil is essential in FFXIV, whether it's for purchasing weapons and
equipment, gaining access to unique dyes, or even getting a Chocobo or Minion.
Players can earn Gil through a variety of methods including selling items to
merchants, completing Guildleves, dungeons and quests, trading Company Seals or
Allagan Tomestones with the NPC in Rowena's Center for Cultural Promotion, or
using Treasure Maps.
Performing
Beast Tribe Quests and Levemetes also gives high Gil rewards, as do the field
and chest terasures and the slaying of enemies in battle. Lastly, the
144-instance provides high rewards and is one of the best ways to earn fast and
reliable Gil.
Gathering
Players
need a good amount of Gil to level up their gear, get end-game equipment and
power-ups like Materia and Tomestones. In addition, many other activities
require a lot of Gil such as daily and weekly hunts or the purchase of Treasure
Maps for higher rewards.
Gil
drops from enemies, is found in chests and received when selling items and
equipment. It is also used to buy rumors in the tavern and errands,
teleportation services and to upgrade Gold Saucer. Additionally, it is needed
to use the Bribe command and improve compatibility with Yojimbo.
Combat
FFXIV
is a complex, challenging MMORPG with a very deep endgame. Performing well
requires memorizing a rotation of buttons, coordinating party buffs and
strongest attacks, and communicating with teammates.
The
game also has a number of activities that can only be completed or earned a
limited amount of times per week. These include Custom Deliveries, weekly
challenges and raid drops.
There's
an incredibly complex system of crafting and item management in FFXIV, so you
should be mindful of your inventory. For example, a lot of the gear and weapons
in the game require players to turn in weaker versions of them for better ones,
but they'll lose all of their Materia equipped on that equipment in the
process.
Duty Roulette
With
the release of the Endwalker expansion, many daily tasks in FFXIV reset at 8
a.m. PST / 11 a.m EST, including the Duty Roulette and a set of daily allotted
Tribe Quests. Among these is the Duty Roulette, which offers bonus XP and gil
rewards for players at the right level.
This
Roulette places the player into a random dungeon within the level range they
have unlocked. The dungeons may also vary by time of day, and can be re-run for
additional rewards.
Players
can earn Commendations for the successful completion of Duty Roulette
instances. These can be awarded to other players, or they can be used to unlock
achievements for special rewards.
Tomestones
While
most combat-oriented methods of making Gil involve running dungeons, crafters
and gatherers have their own ways of acquiring the currency. These include
trading in crafted gear, completing quests and guildleves, selling runs and
crafting materials at the Market Board, and gathering at the start of new
patches when items are still desirable.
Treasure
Maps are a great way to make some quick Gil, as they usually spawn hordes of
trash enemies that drop a decent amount of raw Gil and Tomestones along with a
small amount of crafting materials and Materia to sell at the Market Board.
However, they can also be a waste of time if you don’t have a lot to spare.
Ventures
In
FFXIV, players earn gil through a variety of methods including leveling up,
selling items on the market board, buying rumors in the tavern and undertaking
errands. They can also spend it on equipment, weapons and cosmetics like weapon
glamour and minions.
One
of the most steady ways to make gil is to send your retainer on ventures. The
units can be sent on hunting or mining expeditions, where they will bring back
animal drops and materials typical to their class and level. The unit gains
experience on these missions and can level up to a maximum of 70.
Raid Instances
When
gamers reach end-game content, they’ll start to splurge on items such as
glamour equipment, mounts and houses. This requires a lot of Gil, so they need
to make it efficiently and quickly.
Thankfully,
there are many methods of acquiring the currency, with crafting and gathering
being the most prominent options. Players can also earn gil by killing enemies,
opening treasure chests and selling loot.
The
player can also earn gil by taking on errands and participating in the Duty
Roulette, as well as by purchasing rumors from the tavern. Additionally,
Ventures are another great way to gain in-game cash, which can be done by
sending retainers on quests using the company seals acquired from Beast Tribe
Quests and levemetes.
