This gorgeous, Autumn micro wedding in Oxford is only the ticket. Kelly and Ross tied the knot on 26th September 2020 having a ceremony at, then a reception.
Kelly found her elegant lace dress from FeelTimes online store.
"I knew I had found the mermaid wedding dress of my dreams when I saw the gorgeous floral train around the FeelTimes dress."
"We met online in 2013 in our hometown of Melbourne, Australia. We both had the travel bug at that time and realized on our first date that people were planning working holidays within the UK."
"Since that first date, we've been lucky to go to several countries together, making the move over towards the UK in 2016."
"Ross proposed on my small birthday in April 2019 on the day trip to Thyme England within the Cotswolds, on the walk within the stunning countryside nearby."
"We initially planned to marry in May 2020 in Australia, however, COVID-19 happened! We have postponed our larger celebration in Australia to 2021 but didn't wish to wait for any more to marry, therefore we decided to possess a micro wedding within the UK too."
"We stayed COVID-19 safe by social distancing and/or mask-wearing around the day when needed. We were lucky to marry outside the formal lockdowns which helped too! For example, I was allowed to possess a hair and make-up artist within our home."
For favors, the pair provide their adult guests having a copy of the Philip Pullman book 'Lyra's Oxford', reflecting the marriage theme from His Dark Materials. They were also given gin and whisky mini bottles in the Cotswolds Distillery.
"We didn't possess a budget per se. We were thinking about investing our budget right into a few key areas – especially where we're able to support smaller businesses that had inspired me on social networking for years – and save in areas which were less important for any micro wedding."
The bride has two very favorite memories from her day;
"Firstly, having our incredible friends and family join us via Zoom from Australia and overseas! It was incredible to determine our family members with us, albeit virtually! It was Saturday night in Australia and some of our friends and family made a celebration of it, incidents were dressing up as our wedding party."
"Secondly, enjoying our sit-down meal at our reception savoring our time with these friends, food, and amazing details – the tablescape, floral details, and cake especially. It was so lovely to consider it all in and revel in it in the end the changes we've experienced this season."
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"Although our day looked and felt different to the original large wedding planned for country Australia, it felt as special to us as we'd hoped. We were so happy around the day and remain looking forward to our future celebration in the future."
